Day one

Saturday, May 26th

After around 20 hours on two different air planes, we finally arrived in Cape Town. We first picked up the car and got a little lost, but then we made our way to our lovely hostel (Zebra Crossing), deposited our bags, and headed out to explore a little bit of the Cape Town night life!

This morning, after we sorted out our breakfast arrangements and tracked down a couple cheap cell phones, we drove all around to some of Nick's favorite Cape Town spots. He planned our day and included some really fantastic surprises like penguins. Yes, that's right. Penguins.

This was pretty much my reaction when I found out we were going to see penguins

I'm positive I just heard a penguin sneeze....
Hey, there's one!
MORE PENGUINS!
After our penguin rendezvous, we drove around the Cape peninsula to see the sights. It is completely gorgeous! I can't believe how lucky we are to work in such an amazing and unique habitat; beautiful mountains, fynbos, and ocean!

The Misty Cliffs.... gorgeous gorgeous.
No baboon sightings yet, but tomorrow we are heading to Cape Point so I'm sure we'll see some monkeys then!

Yeah, this will pretty much be my reaction when I get to see the baboons
